I was able to generate a nvidia-bug-report.log.gz file via ssh as the laptop refuses most input. I can type REISUB to reboot the laptop, but ctl-alt-f1 does not drop to a console.
Driver version: 375.20 (but all previous driver versions for last year exhibited same issue).
Both KDE Neon and Kubuntu 16.10 suffer the same demise.
