I am working on an install for VMware Horizon View 6. The hardware is an IBM/Lenovo x3500 M4 with a Grid K2 GPU.
I have installed the driver on the host as per the instructions and rebooted but it is not loading apparently. When I run vmkload-Mod -l | grep nvidia I get nothing. When I run nvidia-smi It says "NVIDIA-SMI has failed because it couldn’t communicate with the NVIDIA driver. Make sure that the latest NVIDIA driver is installed and running."
I have searched and I am coming up empty. Any help is appreciated.
It appears that the server you’re trying to use is only certified for the K40. I would suggest contacting IBM to determine their plans to certify and whether they can assist. Did you purchase the server with the cards already fitted?
Alternatively you could consider acquiring one of the chassis on the certified list theat sandipt has provided in the link above.
