Gstreamer / DeepStream nvcamerasrc has high CPU usage (around 60 %)

Hello,

I am trying to understand how the mipi driver supposed to work. I am using Jetson TX1 dev kit and the on board camera

when i am using

gst-launch-1.0 nvcamerasrc ! fakesink

i get high cpu usage just for capturing the images

%CPU %MEM     TIME+ COMMAND 
 65.3  4.7   0:39.88 nvcamera-daemon

As i am planning on using the board for capturing video from multiple cameras i am trying to understand why the CPU usage is so high.

I assumed the driver will write the Data directly to GPU memory leaving the CPU free.
Is there a way to avoid the high CPU usage?

Please run ‘sudo ./tegrastats’ to profile usage of all HW components.
