Hack@URI — Exploring NVIDIA Support for Our University’s First-Ever Hackathon

Hi everyone,

I hope you’re all doing well! I’m writing on behalf of Hack@URI, a student-run organization at the University of Rhode Island that’s hosting our first-ever hackathon this February 21–22, 2026, in collaboration with Major League Hacking (MLH).

Our mission is to create an inclusive space where students from all disciplines — computer science, engineering, design, and business — can learn by building real projects. We expect 200+ students from across New England, with challenge tracks in AI/ML, sustainability, health, and civic innovation.

We’d love to explore ways NVIDIA could support us — both through monetary sponsorship and in-kind resources that help students get hands-on with your technologies.

Some ways NVIDIA could get involved:

  • Monetary sponsorship: We’re targeting $5,000 total in funding (open to any tier from $0–$10,000) to help cover venue, prizes, and workshop materials.

  • Hardware and cloud support: Jetson developer kits, RTX GPU prizes, or DLI workshop credits for participants.

  • Mentorship or talks: Short sessions on CUDA, Jetson AI, or optimization workflows during the event.

  • Swag or prizes: NVIDIA gear or learning resources for winners and top AI projects.

Any form of support — financial, technical, or educational — would go a long way in helping us empower students to innovate with AI and GPU computing. We’d be thrilled to feature NVIDIA as a sponsor and highlight Jetson and CUDA-powered projects in our closing ceremony, recap video, and social media coverage.

If there’s a Developer Relations, Academic, or University Programs contact we can reach out to for sponsorship requests, I’d really appreciate the guidance. I can also share our sponsor deck and event overview for more context.

Thank you so much for your time and for everything NVIDIA does to support the next generation of builders and innovators.

Best,
Lily Nguyen
