Hibernation in Arch Linux with i7 12700K on Aorus Elite Z790 AX and MSI RTX 4060ti 16GB

Hey there,

I’m using the above-mentioned system with CachyOS based on Arch Linux. I’m unable to manage hibernation with this system. Though I use two different monitors with different resolutions, I’m in need of using Wayland.

After a lot of talking to ChatGPT and searching forums, there must be still an NVIDIA Driver problem that prevents the system from resuming correctly. It hibernates but when resumes looks like fresh boot and there are lots of errors when starting the system that shows problems with NVIDIA, e.g.

pci_pm_freeze [nvidia] return -5
dpm_run_callback(): pci_pm_freeze retturn -5
failed to quiesce async: error -5
Failed to load image, recovering

tested with and without
options nvidia NVreg_PreserveVideoMemoryAllocations=1 NVreg_TemporaryFilePath=/tmp

The system uses the nvidia-open drivers Version 560.35.03

So did anyone with a similar system manage the hibernation on Arch Linux.
How is the solution?

Thank you
Jo
