How to upgrade existing nvidia driver

Am currently using Ubuntu in non Internet environment to perform machine learning work with involved docker and cuda and machine learning framework.

I wish to know how can I upgrade (downgrade if the version is not correct) without losing my access and data in the computer…

I would hope I can have the steps to do this migration.and advice if the upgrade will delete any of my work or it is just nivdia stuff only that will be affected. Thanks

Depends on how you initially installed the driver, packaged over internet or runfile.

Thanks. If I use the runtime method to install, does it meant that I just to down the desired run file and run again and it will overwrite the old settings…? And also wish to know what it meant ‘packaged over the Internet’ and what is the difference between using the runfile and ‘packaged over the Internet’.

Difficult without knowing your specific setup. I don’t know where you’re getting your kernel updates from if any. Do you have a local repo?
