Install Nvidia 418 driver for NVIDIA RTX A2000 8GB Laptop GPU in HP-ZBook-Studio-16-inch-G9

Hai I am trying to install the Nvidia 418 driver in my HP laptop. But the Nvidia-smi doesn’t seem to work properly. Here are the specs of my laptop. Will NVIDIA RTX A2000 support the specific 418 driver?

I am using an ubuntu 20.04 OS,
Linux HP-ZBook-Studio-16-inch-G9-Mobile-Workstation-PC 5.15.0-67-generic #74~20.04.1-Ubuntu SMP x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

What could be the issue? I specifically want to install Nvidia-418 driver to get my application running. Any suggestions from your side will of great help. Thanks in advance.

I don’t think its possible since old versions of nvidia-drivers require older versions of xorg that no longer work with current kernel versions. I might be wrong but I wasn’t able to install 490 drivers either.

Thank for the reply @agapp11 . But What surprised me was the fact that my pal seem to get
418 working in a laptop with a similiar spec.
