Installing CUDA on Fedora 28 (4.17 kernel) with NVidia GT 330

I’ve installed the latest NVidia linux drivers for my GT 330 GPU (340.107) with no problems so far. I’ve now come across an issue where an app I want to install requires CUDA to be installed. However, upon looking at CUDA 9.2, it contains 396.xxx drivers, which I know don’t work with my GPU.

Is there a way I can install CUDA without the accompanying video driver? Is CUDA version dependent on certain GPU’s it will support?

With driver 340, you can only use up to cuda 6.5
