Good day,
I just hope I am typing this at the right place.
this morning the screen stayed black when moving the mouse usually wakes it from sleep
I looked up journalctl and saw
BIOS contains WGDS but no WRDS
kernel: NVRM: API mismatch: the client has the version 470.129.06, but
NVRM: this kernel module has the version 470.103.01. Please
NVRM: make sure that this kernel module and all NVIDIA driver
NVRM: components have the same version.

What should I do ?
Where can I post the nvidia-bug-report.log.gz file ?
I have re installed linux mint mate Una
on a barand new HP nvidia-bug-report.s
And, since, I found a way to upload the file «nvidia-bug-report.log.gz»
here they are :… nvidia-bug-report.log.gz (324.9 KB)
The older one was from May 23rd. the new one from now.
Thank you for keeping an eye on my evolution.
Regards
Roger
Well I now understand how NVIDIA driver metapackages affect my brain.
Seriously, I have just got another problem after I entered the recommended comamnd: sudo startx -- -logverbose 6
hoping to be able to have a better picture to show you.
I got stuck in a reboot-login loop.
And got out of it by
looking for a solution from another computer.
I had to press CTRL+ALT+F2
and make chown roger:roger .Xauthority
to be able to login decently.
I am now back to this forum to tell you that yes
I continuously see the same lines of errors at every reboot in the output of the command journalctl .
Those errors are not in the nvidia-bug-report.log, the correct kernel driver and client libs are loaded. Use
journalctl -b0
to get the logs from the current boot.
Not really, all uefi firmwares are flawed more or less. In a perfect world, this would be fixed by a bios update but in the real world, nobody spends time/money on fixing stuff as long as it doesn’t break down completely.
