Jetson HDMI no sound

Hi,

I connected the Jetson board to a TV with HDMI. The screen is displayed, but no sound.

I have L4T 21.1 installed on the board. I tested the sound from System Settings > Sound.

Here is what did work:

  • sound from the speakers
  • screen and sound on the TV worked through HDMI from my laptop

Does anyone know how to solve this?

Thanks

Hi Uriv,
Do you see any errors while booting up?
Can you please upload the output of “pactl list” in a text file here?

Thanks & Regards,
Rahool

Hi Rahool,

No errors on boot.
I uploaded the output of pactl list to http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=05384427629522923385

Thanks

Hi dtmoodie,

After doing below setting:
System settings → Sound → Play sound through “HDMI/DisplayPort”

Confirmed sound can be outputted on TK1/r21.5 and TX1/r24.2.1.

what about TX2?
seems that it got somehow resolved there: https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topic/1004298/jetson-tx2/no-sound-via-hdmi/
