Jetson Nano Developer Kit and RTC Circuit

Dear All,

I have a small question based on the previous posts that I have read I noticed that the Schottky diode is necessary for the RTC watch to be used power through coin cell.

My question is do we need a schottky diode and capacitor also or the capacitor is considered another voltage source to power up RTC ? According to what I have read the super cap takes to much to charge up can someone explain to me the circuit of the RTC attached ?

Furthermore, another question the diode is placed their to prevent back flow current to the coin cell, now in case I want to use a rechargeable battery should i remove this diode ? should i place any other circuit for rechargeable battery ?

If you use SUPERCAP then COIN CELL not required. Or if you use COIN CELL then SUPERCAP is not required. Schottky diode is required if use COIN CELL, this is required so the COIN CELL must not be be charged. Schottky diode also keeps the forward voltage drop to minimum.
