Jetson SDK components install error with CUDA

I use SDK Manager to flash my Jetson Xavier with Jetpack 4.2.2. However it always encountered the CUDA install error with Target as follows:

On a recent release the login account is not created until first boot. After the flash, did you have a monitor/keyboard attached and did you create a login account? I forget if 4.2.2 requires this, but on the flashed Xavier, are you able to log in to it locally or via ssh or via serial console? If you can do any of those things, then a login account is not an issue.

If it turns out to not be a login account issue, then from your host, what is the output of “ifconfig”? Do you see an interface with IP address 192.168.55.100?

Yes, I can successfully ssh to my target from my host. If I run ifconfig, I got:

11:57:13 ERROR : CUDA Toolkit for L4T : command terminated with error

scp was using “nvidia@192.168.1.155” for its login. Is the the account your ssh test succeeded with? If the ssh was ok, then it was probably this file on the host PC side not existing:

~/tmp_NV_L4T_CUDA_TARGET_POST_INSTALL_COMP.sh

Basically the command which failed was trying to copy that file on your host to the Jetson. The file itself is part of the NVIDIA files, and does not require access to any of the Ubuntu servers (though I don’t know if this is downloaded from an NVIDIA server or part of SDK Manager…I suspect it has to be downloaded).

The actual network traffic to 192.168.1.155 would be through wlp3s0 (which is “192.168.1.179/24”). This interface did show a dropped packet, but it is hard to say if this was the cause of the ssh failure (in which case the earlier mentioned “tmp_NV_L4T_CUDA_TARGET_POST_INSTALL_COMP.sh” would have been ok and networking would have been the scp failure cause). Some dropped packets are not fatal, e.g., when using TCP, and though this is suspicious my bet would be on the network itself not being the issue (there was a lot of traffic through the link and only one packet was dropped).

Would anyone from NVIDIA be able to comment on whether “~/tmp_NV_L4T_CUDA_TARGET_POST_INSTALL_COMP.sh” is downloaded via the manifest, and if so, would install of CUDA have stopped at that point, or would install have continued until scp failed to copy the file?

Hello,

I changed the ppa repository to local and problem solved.

Thanks for your response, I am a little confused about " ppa repository to local ", how to change ppa repository to local? Please explain in details. Thanks a lot.

Thanks a lot.I have solved the problem. Because I didn’t make network configuration for the Xavier. As the User Guide said, we must “Connect the developer kit and Linux host computer to the same network.”
After I made network configuration for the Xavier, the installation completed successfully.
