Jetson TX2 NX has been widely adopted by our customers worldwide since becoming available in 2021. NVIDIA is extending the availability of Jetson TX2 NX an additional two years through January 2028.

Hı leelak, what about after 2028. Is it logical to use in a new design ?
I will suggest that newer software won’t be developed on anything older than Orin. Security updates will exist, but an older platform makes sense only if the versions of software on those platforms will also work for you. For example, an existing product which does not require newer versions of CUDA could remain on an NX; if you expect the software to evolve though and take advantage of newer features, then you want Orin.
No. The extension is only for existing designs. TX2 NX will be stuck on Jetpack 4 with Ubuntu 18.04, and Ubuntu 18.04 itself is out of the 5 year support period and won’t receive updates any more. The critical ssh flaw will remain open and unfixed for example.
Only use the Orin series for new projects.
