Jetson Xavier NX not detected after accidental drop (fan not spinning, no recovery mode)

Hello everyone,

My Jetson Xavier NX accidentally fell from a table. After the drop, the carrier board powers on, but the fan does not spin and the module seems to have stopped working.

Before the fall, everything was working perfectly. There was no short circuit the board still looks like new. This is the second module with the same issue. I also tried recovery mode, but it is not detected on another computer.

Could the drop have caused micro-damage to the module ?

Hi,

Some questions to confirm:

  • What is your host OS (Ubuntu or Windows)?

  • If you’re using Ubuntu, is it running natively or on a virtual machine?

Also, if possible, please try using a different carrier board.

My host OS is Ubuntu 22.04, installed physically on the machine (not a virtual machine).

I also tested with a different carrier board, but the issue is still the same.

Sorry for the delayed reply. Yes, other Xavier NX devices are detected and operate normally under the same environment.
