Have been using my DGX-Spark since 30 December 2025. Updates all good.
Now just got an update from the dashboard. It started updating, after restart as usual but instead of updating for 1 minute… it updated way longer… very slow… then I got a blue popup something like firmware update failed… and now I have a dead spark… Last week I ordered a second one, because I wanted to bundle them together…. now I feel Like I wasted a lot of money…
Same here, same frustration.
Yesterday I updated my Asus Ascent GX10, and after the reboot, it was stuck in a pink Kernel Panic screen. After 8 hours trying to recover it (i was able to access the file system, but not able to restart gnome), I’m copying my files on an external disk and i will reinstall everything. Wish me good luck.
Is unacceptable that an official update will brick such expensive hardware

I actually managed to fix this almost immediately, but I couldn’t find my original post to share the solution! Here is how I solved it:

I shut down the DGX Spark (NVIDIA Founder’s Edition).

I disconnected all USB-C cables, including the monitor and keyboard.

I pressed and held the power button for 90 seconds.

I waited 5–10 minutes to ensure the residual power was completely drained.

I plugged in only the power cable and the monitor (leaving the keyboard/mouse hub disconnected) and turned the system on.
I use this exact same procedure whenever my system freezes from running out of memory (like when I exceed 128GB during training). A hard power drain like this ensures the system boots up normally without any issues.
I think doing this rolled back the firmware update. I’m hesitant to try updating it again, so I’m sticking with the older version for now. On a side note, I bought a second Spark that just arrived with two high-speed cables, but I haven’t even unboxed it yet!
