I am having trouble getting my new RTX 5080 to work with linux mint (22.1).
The motherboard seems to see the card.
lspci | grep VGA
e1:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation Device 2c02 (rev a1)
According to the driver downloads…
…there should be a few subversions of the 570 that work with it, as well as the 575 beta.
I have tried at least a couple of versions of the 570 as well as the 575 beta.
None of them seem to be recognising the device. Has anyone else had any joy with this? Any tips or pointers?
Hi there @tom.mccavana, welcome to the NVIDIA developer forums.
I recommend checking out this post »»»»»»»»»» If you have a problem, PLEASE read this first «««««««««« in the Linux category. That way the right people will be able to see your post and you can provide the details required to maybe receive some suggestions.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Thanks greatly Markus.
I will keep this for future reference.
I have actually solved my own issue. The 575 driver works.
lspci still doesn’t recognise the device by name but the everything else is seeing the card (e.g. nv-settings andnvidia-smi)
Many thanks,
Tom
I could finally make work my Nvidia 5070 ti on ubuntu! I’ve installed nvidia-driver-575-open and via nvidia-settings → PRIME profiles → NVIDIA (Performance Mode) fixed my slow FPS problem.
