I am so incredibly mad right now as I have spent an entire day troubleshooting why my nvidia gpu wasn’t working on my linux installation only to find downgrading the driver was the solution… It is absurd, powerful card in a new generation just released and I have to use an older driver to make it work? What the hell?! Is there no god damn quality control for these drivers of yours?!! It’s not even a beta driver? Who is responsible for this absolutely extreme fckup?

My card works on the older 570.153.02 driver, but it works really badly, there’s some insane stuttering even in simple applications like vkcube and glxgears. This is a god damn disgrace, wish I had found a laptop with an AMD GPU, at least they have functional drivers!
If I hadn’t been lucky enough that the cachyOS install usb came with the exact driver version I needed, I never would have figured this out!
Edit: got around to adding bug report. it was made on the beta driver though not on 575.57.08 but the problem is the same: nvidia-bug-report.log.gz (329.4 KB)
