ASUS RTX 5090 OC - GPU at PCI:1:0:0 is not supported by the 570.124.04 driver - RHEL 9.5

Picked up one of the ASUS RTX 5090 OC units on Friday. Installed the latest proprietary Linux drivers from the site (570.124.04) in RHEL 9.5. (Card works fine with latest Game Ready drivers in Windows 11 Pro.)

Get the following error:

(EE) NVIDIA(0): Failed to initialize the NVIDIA graphics device!
(EE) NVIDIA(GPU-0): GPU at PCI:1:0:0 is not supported by the 570.124.04 driver.

Is there a special/newer driver I need to be using? The feature and beta drivers have older dates and version codes than this.

The driver module is loaded into the kernel, but the graphical display will not start.

Thanks!

Same issue with the drivers from last week:

570.133.07 - Release Date: Tue Mar 18, 2025

Any idea when the Linux drivers will detect the 5090 properly?

blackwell requires using the open modules (MIT/GPL). my 5090 FE has been working okay with 570.133.07 w/ the open modules.

Ahh okay, cool. Is this just a short-term fix or the way forward for Blackwell?

was trying the same on rocky 9.5 - are there any write ups on installing the nvidia open drivers / what repos they are available in ?

was reading somewhere that the kernel needs to be the mainline 6+ version.
