Hello,
I am using an NVIDIA RTX 5080 graphics card on a Linux (Ubuntu) machine. The drivers were previously installed and functioning correctly. However, two days ago, the drivers suddenly stopped working. The graphics card hardware is getting detected in the command.
I have not made any hardware changes, and I do not recall updating the Linux system recently. I have attempted to reinstall multiple NVIDIA driver versions, including 580, 570, and several older releases, but none have resolved the issue. Please advise on how to restore proper driver functionality.
Linux: 6.11.0-26-genericDistributor ID: UbuntuDescription: Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTSRelease: 24.04
The following is error when I try nvidia-smi:
NVIDIA-SMI has failed because it couldn’t communicate with the NVIDIA driver. Make sure that the latest NVIDIA driver is installed and running.
