Notebook MSI Ubuntu 18.04 2080 RTX

Hi!
Did everything as it is written here,

NVIDIA-SMI has failed because it couldn't communicate with the NVIDIA driver - Driver 440, RTX 2080

$nvidia-smi
NVIDIA-SMI has failed because it couldn't communicate with the NVIDIA driver. Make sure that the latest NVIDIA driver is installed and running.

but it didn’t help.

$ sudo cat /var/log/gpu-manager.log

can't access /opt/amdgpu-pro/bin/amdgpu-pro-px

...
Error: can't access /sys/bus/pci/devices/0000:01:00.0/driver
The device is not bound to any driver.

Sorry can’t help – I have the same problem. msi with rtx2080
For me the problem began when i ran the software updater.
It did mention nvidia - I should have paid better attention.
