M.2 NVMe and M.2 SATA support

Hi Nvidia,

I have spent days figuring out what storage to support on a carrier board for the Jetson Nano and to clarify things for myself I came across this image https://images.app.goo.gl/GuYSS5yr1QRXRZMX8 showing differences between M.2 NVMe SSD and M.2 SATA SSD. I am aware that the Nano can support M.2 NVMe SSD with PCIe x4 connected to a M.2 Key M connector. Having a M.2 Key M connector would imply that a M.2 SATA SSD can also be connected to the same M.2 Key M connector but does the Jetson Nano support the SATA protocol as shown in the attached image without a PCIe-to-SATA bridge? From the initial product design guide (June 7, 2019) in the design checklist (section 12) there is mention of USB/PCIe/SATA connections.

Regards,

Willie

Jetson Nano doesn’t support SATA connection protocol through its M.2 Key-M slot. It supports only PCIe protocol.
With PCIe protocol, NVMe SSDs are the ones we get these days.
