Mass flash issue on Xavier-NX

Hi,

I used mass flash tool to flash 8 Xavier-NX at the same time, and I got 3 issues.

Platfrom:Xavier-NX with emmc
BSP: R32.4.4
PC: Ubuntu 18.04
usb hub 3.0*2

First
I ran nvmassflashgen.sh,and I got the tar file.
Then, I entered 8 Xavier-NX to the RCM mode,and ran the nvmflash.sh.
But it shows less than 8 PID,I try 10 times just one got 8 PID.

Second
After flash, the chromium icon is broken in some Xavier-NX.

Third
Some Xavier-NX otg are fail.

hello Karis,

it may due to power supply issue to the hub.
could you please have a try for not using USB hubs, please initial the test with the maximum USB ports on your host machine.
thanks

Hi JerryChang,

Do you flash 8 Jetson modules at the same time by mass flash ?
We would like to know if have another way to flash more than 8 Jetson modules? Thanks!

We attempt two ways to test this issue, but the result is the same.

  1. Use the external power supply for usb hub.
  2. Change to another usb hub.

Karis

hello Karis,

we had only test mass flash to flash two devices simultaneously, those devices were connected to host machine without usb hub.
please check if there’s stability issue,
for example, are you having connection loss sometime, how about reduce number of connected devices?

Hi Jerry,

We will test it.Thanks!

We flash 4 devices with usb hub,it’s OK.
But flashing 4 devices at the same time, that is not faster in production.

Thank you for your reply.

hello Karis,

since the massflash blob is already generated. you could deliver the image blob to factor environment for flashing.
as you can see from the readme file, it’s hardware related issue.

NOTE: The final performance (i.e. how many simultaneous flashing each flashing host can take)
is solely depending on USB configuration of each flashing host.
