eMMC Flash Failing: Jetpack 5.0.2(+) via SDK Manager

System Setup:

Host OS: Ubuntu 20.04.4 (note NOT a vm)
SDK Manager: v2.0.0-11405
Jetson Hardware: Jetson Nano B01 carrier // Xavier NX production module (16GB eMMC & 8GB RAM (new))

While flashing the Xavier NX via SDK manager, I am receiving an error early in the flash process, which then cascades to several more errors before a final (unsuccessful) termination.

Note: Using the exact same hardware and host software configuration, I was able to successfully program another (new) Xavier NX module. I simply swapped modules, and repeated the steps exactly. I am leaning towards hardware issue with the suspect module, but I’d like to discuss this before attempting an RMA. There are no visible signs of damage to the module itself. I have also attempted this process on a separate PC with the same OS and SDK manager config, and newer Jetpack 5 releases, with no success. I have attached the SDK Mgr logs below.

FYI: I have been working with Jetsons for about 3 years (TX1/2, AGX Xavier, Xavier NX, Nano, Orin) and I have not encountered a flash issue this bad before. Need some second opinions regarding how to proceed.

Hi,

I feel like you bumped into the same situation as this guy, which turned out to be hardware malfunction.

Maybe you can first try what you can capture with serial console during flashing.

I was unable to find a functional solution for this problem. However, I was able to return the module to the vendor. As I mentioned before, I simply swapped to another Xavier NX module and there were no problems. I suspect there is a deep issue in the module that I cannot detect externally, unlike the person in the thread you linked. I appreciate the help regardless.
