MXM P1000 PL Power Limiting capable ? Temp cut off adjustable ? Ubuntu 20.04

I have an MXM P1000 4GB memory GPU and I tried to adjust the PL (Power Limit) in Ubuntu 20.04 using the Nvidia-sim command but it said it wasn’t available ??? I also noticed the thermal shutdown threshold was set very high and I would like to lower that as well.

I have the CUDA tools installed and running properly.

Thank you in advance, really appreciate the feedback

when nvidia-smi reports ‘Changing power management limit is not supported for GPU’ then it obviously won’t work. The thermal thresholds are set in vbios and can’t be changed.

Thank you, I was confused as it seemed like it was adjustable from 0 - 4 in Ubuntu GUI , but not via CLI ?
