Not able to perform Calibration for Nova Orin Developement Kit

Following the Calibration instructions according to Nova Extrinsics Sensor Calibration Tool | NVIDIA NGC for Nova Orin Development Kit.

Completed calibration for front stereo to front fisheye camera, Front fisheye camera to left and right fisheye cameras and Left fisheye camera to left stereo camera.

While performing calibration for Right fisheye camera to right stereo camera, able to calibrate for 10 poses out of 11, when we reach the 11th pose, the checker board detection rectangle does not follow the large checker board but the camera captures the movement. Repeated this process thrice with the same result with the checkerboard detection rectangle not following the checkerboard at the 11th pose.

Hi @pmoorthy

Thank you for your detailed post. To better help you to reproduce your bug, can you please answer these questions?

  • Are you seeing any error messages in the terminal?
  • Are the cameras correctly positioned according to CAD nominals? otherwise, it would lead to calibration error at the end of the process
  • Are both rectangles (blue and red) still drawn in the image or only blue? How about the green dots inside the detection (red) rectangle?
  • Does the not detected message appear over the image in the web UI?

Thank you in advance,
Raffaello

Hi Raffaello
Thanks for getting back to me.

  1. I am not seeing any error messages in the terminal
  2. I am using the Nova orin devkit as is without changing anything.
  3. Both rectangles are drawn in the image and I can also see the green dots., but the detection rectangle gets stuck and stops following the checker board.
  4. The not detected message does not appear
    Look forward to hearing back.

Thank you for your reply,

We are still investigating. Do you have a screenshot or video to share?
Also, a log from the terminal can be a good help to us.

Do you have other sensors or other software running at the same time?

Thank you in advance for your time.

Raffaello

Hi Raffaelo,
I tried calibrating it once again and it worked fine. I was able to complete the calibration process.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Pranav
