NVIDIA 510 driver: Fedora 35 will not boot

This might be old news:

Kernel is 5.16.5-200.fc35.x86_64

o/s #1: Fedora 35 Workstation
o/s #2: Fedora 35 KDE Plasma
GPU: GTX 1080 Ti
System will not boot.

Rolled the driver back to 470.103.01

Problem solved:

  1. Update kernel to 5.16.6-200
koji download-build --arch=x86_64 kernel-5.16.6-200.fc35 && sudo dnf update kernel*

https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2022-519c1ac29f
https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=1913374

  1. Uninstall Nvidia 470 driver:
sudo dnf remove xorg-x11-drv-nvidia\*
  1. Reboot

  2. Install Nvidia 510.47.03 driver

  3. Reboot

I am just a regular user that tried to update Fedora 35 today and I got the boot issue. I follow the steps I can boot but I still have issues to load some components . Nvidia-settings does not work and if I try to update Fedora I get this.

Any tips?

For now I went back to kernel 5.15 and the old drivers because some components for the 510 are not available yet like the nvidia-settings, so I will wait for now.

For the 510 driver to work, you need kernel 5.16.6-200

I did installed it, and it didnā€™t work.
it is missing nvidia-settings new version like I said. And if I try to update I got those errors above.

If I try to manually install it I get this:

Last metadata expiration check: 0:01:41 ago on Tue 08 Feb 2022 11:30:26 AM -03.

(try to add ā€˜ā€“skip-brokenā€™ to skip uninstallable packages)

Got it working installing from the nvidia repositories directly using the instructions on this site.

Thanks for the help
