nvidia-smi encodersessions is not showing status

CentOS7.3 (Kernel: Linux 3.10.0-514.26.2.el7.x86_64)
NVIDIA-SMI 390.96

I’m having issue pulling up status using ‘nvidia-smi encodersessions’. The stats is empty therefore I cannot verify the performance of the encoder.

I can verify from the esxi using the 'nvidia-smi vgpu -u" that the encoder is utilizing.

I’m wondering what can be the cause why the stats are not showing.

Hi,

I have this issue as well, although in my case nvidia-smi vgpu -u shows "No supported devices in vGPU mode". I believe encoding is working though because video playback on the VM is smooth and nvidia-smi shows the driver loaded and in use by VMwareBlastServer.
