Nvv4l2h265enc removes metadata

I am experiencing a strange thing: It seems that the nvv4l2h265enc element removes the metadata from the buffer, so elements downstream do not receive any meta. Can you elaborate on this and suggest a workaround? I tried to use omxh265enc or x265enc instead, but these had other compatibility issues.
