You’re right. I chose a type-C connector for weight/size reasons which are critial but, as soon as the selected USB-C controller is configured by HW, I assume it will act as a type-A.

USB Type-C mux controller (HD3SS3220): The I2C bus can configure the controller (as it can work bidirectionally) but the default configuration (Downstream Facing Port - Host) is defined by the resistors
