Thanks for highlighting issue to us.
It would be really helpful if you can share nvidia-bug-report output for the good and bad performance configurations.
Good configuration
Xorg XFCE
Nvidia driver 515.76
Xonotic-SDL2 (200+ FPS)
nvidia-bug-report.log.gz (1.1 MB)
Bad configuration
Xorg XFCE
Nvidia driver 535.54
Xonotic-SDL2 (~50 FPS)
nvidia-bug-report.log.gz (1.3 MB)
As I mentioned in the first post, all drivers past 515
have this issue. Tests ran on Xorg, same behavior on Wayland with both native and XWayland clients. Desktop environments I tried: Gnome and XFCE, both behave the same. Compute tasks are unaffected. Thank you for replying.
Good config (Debian 12 , kde , nvidia 515 installed from nvidia.com run script)
nvidia-bug-reportdebian.log.gz (258.6 KB)
Bad config (Garuda live - kde - dragonized - driver version 530.xx installed automatically on booting)
nvidia-bug-report-garuda.log.gz (792.7 KB)
Any news on this? I’m still having this issue with latest driver version in Ubuntu 23.10. Tried Arch Linux too but doesn’t solve. Using nvidia 470 driver is really limiting as we can’t play some more recent games like Hogwarts Legacy (given the Vulkan/DXVK 2.0 support). Any solution would be strongly appreciated.
