pgfortran - mac os x error : no such instruction

I am running pgfortran on macbook pro os x yosemite. I had downloaded pgfortran 15.5 for mac os x and installed it in the default location “/opt”. On compiling a test program I get the following issue.

I am running haswell. I don’t see why it is not able to recognise the instructions.

What is your xcode version? It needs to be xcode 5 or above.

Otherwise, we need to make sure your installation completed. Is there a localrc in your 15.5 bin directory? If so, post it here.
