PGI License Server problem

I’m trying to use the PGI compilers under a trial license on a Windows 7 based laptop.
I tried to compile one of the example files and I got the following error:

pgi-f95-win64: LICENSE MANAGER PROBLEM: Failed to checkout license

According to the installation notes I checked if the PGI License Server service was running and it was not. However when I try to start this service it stops immediately.

Any suggestion will be welcome.
