Problem with GTX 750 when upgrading from Fedora 27 to Fedora 29

Hi, I have been running a GTX 750 for several years on a dual-boot PC running windows 7
and Fedora Linux. I’ve never had any problems with the Windows setup. I use the NVIDIA supplied
drivers for linux. I recently upgraded my Linux setup from Fedora 27 to Fedora 29. Before
doing the upgrade, I booted my machine with a Live version of Fedora29. This worked and
the graphics driver was reported as NV711 (or NVsomething). The upgrade process tried to keep my old
Fedora 27 setup which used drivers from the Nvidia site but this failed. I have tried
NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-410.66, 410.78, and 415.13. The system startup reaches graphics
display manager, then fails with /usr/libexec/CXorg crash in OsLookupColor.

I got Fedora 29 working with nouveau and Gnome (but not Gnome Classic or Cinnamon). I now have it running for all three desktops using the NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-390.87-patched.run installer. Thanks for the tip
