I realize this may be an Ubuntu question and not so much specific to the Spark but I believe I’ll have a better chance of getting a clear answer here.
I have 2 systems - an ASUS GX10 and a founder’s edition DGX Spark. My first one was the GX10 and on that one I ended up installing xrdp which took a significant amount of trial and error. I don’t even remember all the updates and configuration tweaks to finally get that working. When I got the Spark, I saw that RDP options were nicely available in the UI and I managed to get a working Windows RDP client working by turning on both remote view and remote control settings on the first tab, then allowing remote connections without user login requirement on the second tab, and had to save an .rdp file and make a redirection config edit. It’s finicky in that sometimes connecting with the standard Windows client it fails and re-trying works, also the whole “log in twice” thing is quirky, and more importantly I can’t use mRemoteNG to connect at all. I prefer the convenience of that interface.
If I can figure out the mRemoteNG issue, I want to do a fresh install of the ASUS using the Spark ISO and effectively configure remote access the same.
I do realize SSH is an option and remoting into the box is a rare need, but I prefer UIs and it’s the easiest way for me to test configurations and keep track of stuff.
EDIT: I managed to get it to connect (had to choose a specific resolution) but it gives a GNOME warning about being insecure and to secure it I would effectively need “use redirection server name:i:1” which is an .rdp file config change which doesn’t seem supported by mRemoteNG. I also tried importing the RDP as a connection profile. Didn’t work. Is that warning bogus?
