I am looking for a graphics card that could run Autocad in RDS Server.
I currently have a Tesla T4 graphics card but I can’t get it to work. When I add my graphics card in passthrough and I simply launch a youtube video, it jerks like crazy, it’s worse with the TESLA T4 than without.
The idea is to have a GPU that can work in passthrough mode with VmWare ESX7.03 / ESX 8.0

The problem is not the T4 but the fact that this is a vGPU use case where you need the vGPU driver and licensing.
Without the vGPU driver there is only TCC support for Windows, so WDDM needs the vGPU driver…
I use the Tesla T4 in passthrough so I thought I didn’t need a license, since I didn’t have a vGPU. The entire card is redirected directly into my VM.
Concerning the installed driver, I installed the GRID vSphere7.0 552.74 driver and the device is not in error and is well recognized in the task manager.
So if I understand correctly, I must no longer use the Tesla T4 in passthrough but in vGPU mode and for that I need the licenses
In general it doesn’t matter if you use vGPU or PT. As long as you need the vGPU driver to get support for WDDM you will need to have licenses!
