RTX3090 not detected with nvidia-smi under Ubuntu 20.04.1 with kernel 5.11.0-27-generic

Hi there,
I need some help setting up an RTX3090 under Ubuntu LTS 20.04.1

Linux server01 5.11.0-27-generic #29~20.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Wed Aug 11 15:58:17 UTC 2021 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Initially (with a clean install of Ubuntu 20LTS) the card gets listed with lshw but without a valid name. After running

sudo update-pciids

I can see a proper name:

sudo lshw -C video

The problem is that nvidia-smi is not showing the graphic card.

No devices were found

I tried older drivers like 450 and reinstalled ubuntu (several times already -_-).
I don’t know what else to do anymore.

Attached is the Nvidia bug report. I hope someone can tell me what is wrong here.
