  • Linux Distribution: Fedora Linux 33
  • Display environment: KDE 5.20.4
  • Display server: X11
  • Nvidia Driver installed source:

Nvidia Debug Report: nvidia-bug-report.log.gz (1.6 MB)

I tried negativo17’s repository and had the same issue.
Nvidia Debug Report: nvidia-bug-report-negativo17.log.gz (1.7 MB)

Did you set the necessary options?

Thank you for your reply.

Yes, I set “options nvidia NVreg_DynamicPowerManagement=0x02” in /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia.conf when I installed the drivers from negativo17 and rpmfusion’s repository and /sys/bus/pci/devices/0000:01:00.0/power/control is set to auto by default it seems.

Then you should look for a bios update, the nvidia driver needs the supplemental acpi methods mentioned. Those should be mandatory reqirements by intel.

Thank you! I just looked at bios updates and saw this:

I imagine this might be the culprit? I will update the bios and report back.

If that’s an Intel LAPQC71X device, then yes, that’s exactly the firmware update you need.
