Runtime D3 showing as Not Supported on Fedora Linux

Problem: Runtime D3 showing as Not Supported on Fedora Linux with RTX 2070 SUPER Max-Q and i7-9750H according to /proc/driver/nvidia/gpus/0000:01:00.0/power

Other information:

  • Kernel: 5.9.16-200.fc33.x86_64
  • Linux Distribution: Fedora Linux 33
  • Display environment: KDE 5.20.4
  • Display server: X11
  • Nvidia Driver installed source: RPMFusion.org

I tried negativo17’s repository and had the same issue.

Yes, I set “options nvidia NVreg_DynamicPowerManagement=0x02” in /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia.conf when I installed the drivers from negativo17 and rpmfusion’s repository and /sys/bus/pci/devices/0000:01:00.0/power/control is set to auto by default it seems.

Then you should look for a bios update, the nvidia driver needs the supplemental acpi methods mentioned. Those should be mandatory reqirements by intel.

If that’s an Intel LAPQC71X device, then yes, that’s exactly the firmware update you need.
