Second monitor not turning on

Hello, I’m using a 3080ti on Ubuntu 22.04, and both monitors were working fine yesterday, but after starting up my computer today, only one of them has turned on, and the other is in power save mode

This has happened a few times now, and I’ve had to reinstall graphics drivers

At the moment, in Nvidia X server settings, it says the monitor is disabled and I cannot re-enable it

Please run nvidia-bug-report.sh as root and attach the resulting nvidia-bug-report.log.gz file to your post.

nvidia-bug-report.log.gz (413.8 KB)

Please delete /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Okay, now it’s detected, in x server settings and in ubuntu control center, but the monitor is still in sleep even though it says it’s enabled

So I turned the monitor off and on again and it’s now on and working…
It’s probably going to be fine for like 3 boots and then break again though, as that’s what’s happened every time i’ve fixed it

Please switch monitors and check if the issue moves with the cable or stays with the monitor.

I highly doubt it is the monitor’s issue, as it has worked fine with no issue in Windows. I think it’s likely to be a software issue.

Windows driver and linux driver have different thresholds regarding hw.

what is that supposed to mean

it’s doing it again, it was fine for a bit again
this is so dumb why can’t Nvidia drivers just work properly on linux

Does it work when downgrading to driver 525?

I was on 530 for a bit, and I recently switched to 525, and the issue still occurs
