If you don’t need the 4 GB of RAM, you could go with a GTX 285 with 1 or 2 GB of RAM instead. Those are < $400 each and will have the same CUDA performance as the C1060 (except the RAM part).
Actually most GTX285 cards have a higher peak memory bandwidth than C1060. So for a budget user a GTX285 is recommended.
