Technical reference manual

Where can I download the Jetson Thor Technical reference manual? I could not find it. Thanks!

Normally here, but I don’t see it:
https://developer.nvidia.com/embedded/downloads#?tx=$product,jetson_thor

Jetson Thor Technical Reference Manual is not planned to be provided as all user needed settings should be supported through the Software configuration options.

OK Thanks!

@sgursal what do you mean not planned? For Orin and before it was useful resource to read through, and it would answer lot of questions people will ask on this forum.

Not only are Jetsons getting more expensive, but also documentation is getting poorer…

Big thumbs down if not released 👎

Since we provide Board Support Package for the module which is documented sufficiently, customers should not need to refer to the Technical Reference Manual. What information specifically you may want to refer to or is this in general to read through?

It useful for learning about:

  • CPU/GPU architecture
  • PCIe
  • IO/peripherals

For example without Orin TRM I woudn’t know there is Cortex M5 MCU integrated.

Overall, for learning, understanding of capabilities of Thor, and lastly useful for developing/programming on Thor.

It’s called Thor developer kit/module after all.

Honestly, it’s insane that NVIDIA would choose not to release a Technical Reference Manual for Jetson Thor. This is a critical document for developers who want to fully understand the hardware they’re working with.

The idea that software configuration alone is “sufficient” is completely disconnected from how real-world development works. TRMs are not optional reading for many of us — they’re essential for understanding system architecture, peripherals, low-level integration, and performance tuning.

If the TRM is truly not planned for release, that’s a massive disappointment and a big blow to the developer community.

Feedback acknowledged. Will check with our team once again.

Thank you. Looking forward to it :)

Unfortunately, NVIDIA is not planning to release the TRM for Jetson Thor to JEP forum, as yet. For SW related questions, highly recommend referring to the SW documentation.

Hello I am a hardware engineer, I am trying to see the PCIe capabilities to connect to a Versal AI Edge FPGA which supports PCIe Gen-4 with CCIX (going away) and new will be Versal AI Edge Gen-2 with PCIe Gen-5 support CXL. I too looked for the technical reference manual to see if and how it is available. Hardware guy’s love the TRD :-)
