Thor GPU/CPU Full loading screen will be freeze

  1. Our design Thor customer board, GPU/CPU Full loading screen will be freeze, but use debug Console this system is Living, What could be the cause of this?
  2. New version datasheet(1.4), I discover updated VDDMAX for SYS_VIN_HV rail and Imax, 22A@20V(440W), last version datasheet 22A@9V(198W), I originally designed sys_vin_hv to be 200W. Does this update mean I need to redesign the power supply and increase it to 440W?

  1. You can check your SYS_VIN_HV for voltage droop when the freeze occurs.
  2. T5000 SYS_VIN_HV Imax was updated after evaluation of extreme stress applications. SYS_VIN_HV EDP can reach up to 330W at 100us to 1ms moving average and peak power can reach up to 22A@20V for <6us.

Note that the Jetson Thor Series Modules Interface Design Guide is also updated to v1.4 and highly recommends system current monitoring in the new section 5.7.

Checking further with the team, the high EDP usually causes system shutdown/OCP or reset and not necessarily a hang/freeze, so it may be unrelated to your issue in point #1.

Are there any errors or warnings printed in the debug console when the freeze happens? Do you have the log during the freeze?

What is the difference in display between your board and NV devkit.

The error log there is crashed from DCE which is display engine. Not open source and also the logs are encrypted.

We need a local reproduce to fully investigate this issue.

Our software engineers compared the error log of elvis7 with the situation we encountered, and found it to be the same.

We purchased 15 T5000 units, and currently only one unit has a problem. We tested it on the development board, and no error messages occurred.

What is the difference in display between your board and NV devkit.
