Thor ISO image install SQUASHFS error Unable to read page

I have the Jetson Thor devkit. When trying the ISO image install of version 38.2 from Aug 22 (latest currently available), the boot/installation from the USB stick keeps getting stuck with the following scrolling error:

SQUASHFS error: Unable to read page, block d45958, size ad14.
SQUASHFS error: Unable to read data cache entry [d45958]

I already tried the following:

  • Redownloaded iso file through another internet connection
  • Tried the Balena Etcher versions on both Windows and Mac to write the image onto the USB Drive
  • Tried Rufus ISO writer as well with bad sector check enabled
  • Used several different USB sticks
  • Replaced the M.2 drive in the Thor

None of these have had any impact. It’s as if the image was damaged already on Nvidia’s download server. Did others have success with this?

Please check if you can have a host PC in Ubuntu 20.04 or 22.04. And follow the manual steps to flash AGX Thor developer kit:

Thanks, the install via the SDK Manager from a Ubuntu host computer works, so my hardware looks ok. This further indicates there might be an issue with the primary install method of the usb boot iso image.
