TK1 vs Vulkan

Is TK1 still relevant in the mobile graphics after the introduction of Vulkan API?

Vulkan being better than OpenGL/DX12, is there any feature of TK1 makes it better than snapdragon?

Actually, Vulkan seems to be not working well on Kepler/Maxwell.

Hi Jesse31,

Is TK1 still relevant in the mobile graphics after the introduction of Vulkan API?
No, only Jetson AGX Xavier, Jetson TX2, Jetson Nano and Jetson TX1 are conformant to Vulkan 1.1.100.

Please refer to https://developer.nvidia.com/embedded/vulkan

Thanks, but you didnt answer my second question:

Hi,
We have comparison with SnapDragon 805. FYR.
https://elinux.org/Jetson/Graphics_Performance#GPGPU_Capabilities

We don’t have benchmark with latest SnapDragon 855. May see if some other users have done the comparison and can share here.

Thanks for the link. But my Question is: is there any feature of TK1 makes it better than snapdragon?

Like running Unreal Engine on TK1, which cant be done on Snapdragon Processors.

How is it useful for gaming/VR? Does Unreal engine running on TK1 gives any advantage?

Hi,
We don’t do benchmark but I think when comparing to 855, TK1 may not perform better.

The latest release of TK1 is r21.8. There is no further plan of adding new features. You may consider other Jetson platforms which support Vulkan 1.1
