TX2 will auto reboot after flash OS

Hi all,

Yesterday we tried flash OS for TX2, but unfortunately, our TX2 will auto reboot after flash, now we can not nothing on it.

Is there anybody met the same issue?

Do you flash Jetson from 64 bit 16.04 Ubuntu host ?

Flash probably succeeded, but video auto-configuration failed. Have you checked your router to see if there is a DHCP request? You may be able to log in via ssh. Serial console is also a very good way to see what is actually going on.

I have also encountered the same problem!

I am so curious that why it is so hard to get ready after buying this board。

We can not login via ssh, maybe because TX2 is not booting completely, now i am try to use serial console to capture some logs…

If you could connect to your router and see if there are entries for the jetson device at DHCP section - most likely you would be able to connect via ssh to the jetson with the default username and password

According to the display, the linux kernel is crashing during the init

as u all know, init is the first process in linux

there is no way to get information through ssh

i advice to use the uart interface to get information

working on it!

My JetPack version is L4T-3.0, and I can enter force-recovery successfully.

Currently, we do not have console logs, cause UART can not be used yet, but there is /_installer/logs/64_TX2/flash_os_tx2.log below, hope you give some advise. Thanks a lot.

Does it appear at dhcp section at your router, when you do reboot?

Flash really does look like it succeeded…this strongly suggests video auto configuration is failing, but otherwise things are working. SSH login or serial console are very likely to give more information (this is why people are asking to check for DHCP request on the router…if you know the IP address you can do network login via ssh).

had you keep HDMI connected for the whole flashing procedure?
guessing this was video auto configuration failure, could you please try to disconnect HDMI and bootup the device?

@JasonLeeeeeeee: Your failure is probably different than that of @Yugui. In all cases the serial console is of course recommended for information. In the case of @Yugui it seems there is no crash, just an HDMI issue. In the case of @JasonLeeeeeeee that serial console boot log would be quite useful.
