Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS Freezes Randomly

I have a Razer Blade 15 with an Intel i7-11800H and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Mobile/Max-Q. I’m having issues the computer will randomly freeze. There is no pattern. I can be coding, surfing the web or looking at settings and the screen will suddenly freeze and the only way I can use it again is to manually shut down the device with the power button and boot it up again.

I have Windows 11 running on the second drive and there seem to be no issues when running Windows.

I have attached the debug file from running nvidia-bug-report.sh
Processing: nvidia-bug-report.log.gz…

Hey,

This might be related to my issue, Display freezes: (EE) NVIDIA(GPU-0): WAIT

Please check in the logs application. Open all logs and then search for ‘nvidia’. I could match the ‘WAIT’ logs with times that the desktop froze.

I definitely see the NVIDIA (GPU-0) WAIT logs and switching to my intel graphics seems to have done the trick as far as no longer freezing, but I can’t use external monitors with this.

I’m on kernel 5.15.08 and running nvidia driver 525. Any ideas?

I am also switching the prime-select manually for now. When using the internal display, I use the on-demand mode. I am not sure whether using the intel mode would disable CUDA as well. Therefore I keep using on-demand. When using an external display, I will switch to nvidia mode. Otherwise the keyboard and mouse get very laggy.

I thought that one some point with 6.0.x/6.1.x kernel in combination with the 520 Nvidia driver the issue was solved. But right now I do experience the issue with a 6.1.x kernel in combination with 525.85.x nvidia driver.

I have also faced this issue. Now, I am using NVIDIA driver 470, which very rarely freezes the screen. Although it has not completely disappeared with the NVIDIA driver 470, it has significantly reduced the freezing. It freezes the screen only once every 1 or 2 hours, and each freeze returns to normal after 4 to 5 seconds.

I have some problem, any solutione to this issue?
