Ubuntu not recognize NVIDIA GPU

I have installed Ubuntu 19.04 and 18.04 on virtual machine and I am trying to install NVIDIA drivers for GTX 1050 Ti, but the OS cannot recognize the GPU and cannot proceed with the installation. I have 2 GPUs on the laptop: NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti and Intel UHD Graphics 630. I am trying from the morning to make it work, installing different versions of Ubuntu without any success… What should I do?

  1. did you pass the gpu through, i.e. is it visible in the VM using lspci?
  2. did you hide the hypervisor?

How do I check these?

  1. post the output of ‘sudo lspci’ in the vm
  2. read the manual of the (yet unknowkn to me) hypervisor you’re using

Looks like you didn’t pass it through, read the hypervisor’s manual about pci passthrough.

How could I know, I don’t even know which hypervisor you’re using.

Also is there any risk for my BIOS? Because what I see, is that the passthrough changes the BIOS configuration.
