It seems like NVIDIA drivers 313.18 contain a bug (or Unigine is so taxing it has revealed a never-seen-before problem with my 8800GT GPU), as on the fourth minute of the test, X.org died and I had to hard reboot the PC. My dmesg contains this:
NVRM: GPU at 0000:01:00.0 has fallen off the bus.
NVRM: os_pci_init_handle: invalid context!
NVRM: os_pci_init_handle: invalid context!
NVRM: GPU at 0000:01:00.0 has fallen off the bus.
NVRM: os_pci_init_handle: invalid context!
NVRM: os_pci_init_handle: invalid context!
My GPU is not overclocked and I’ve never had any problems with it.
