Hi,
We used orign nano+jetpack6.2.1 ,when we used usbsss2,it need work as usb3.0,but it only work as usb2.0 ,why?
eyecloud@eyecloud-desktop:~$ lsusb -t
/: Bus 02.Port 1: Dev 1, Class=root_hub, Driver=tegra-xusb/4p, 10000M
/: Bus 01.Port 1: Dev 1, Class=root_hub, Driver=tegra-xusb/4p, 480M
|__ Port 3: Dev 2, If 0, Class=Hub, Driver=hub/4p, 480M
|__ Port 3: Dev 4, If 0, Class=Mass Storage, Driver=usb-storage, 480M
but usbss1 is work as usb3.0 with the same usb device(mass storage).

The issue you’re experiencing with the Jetson Orin Nano is related to the USB port functionality. Specifically, you’re finding that the USBSS2 port is only working as a USB 2.0 port, while you expect it to work as a USB 3.0 port.
First, let’s examine the USB ports on the Jetson Orin Nano carrier board. According to the documentation, the carrier board has multiple USB ports, including USB 3.0 Type A (1) and USBSS0/1/2 ports.
The USBSS0/1/2 ports are connected to the USB hub, and the module pin names are not directly connected to the USB connector pins but are routed to the input of the USB hub.
Now, let’s look at the lsusb output you provided:
Bus 02 Port 1 Dev 1 Class=root_hub Driver=tegra-xusb4p 10000M
Bus 01 Port 1 Dev 1 Class=root_hub Driver=tegra-xusb4p 480M
Port 3 Dev 2 If 0 Class=Hub Driver=hub4p 480M
Port 3 Dev 4 If 0 Class=Mass Storage Driver=usb-storage 480M
From the output, we can see that the USB ports are working, but the speeds are not as expected. The Bus 02 port is working at 10000M (which is likely a USB 3.0 port), while the Bus 01 port is working at 480M (which is a USB 2.0 port).
Comparing this to the documentation, we can see that the USBSS1 port is working as expected (USB 3.0), while the USBSS2 port is not.
There are a few possible reasons for this issue:
- Hardware configuration: It’s possible that the USBSS2 port is not configured correctly in the hardware. Check the carrier board documentation to ensure that the port is configured correctly.
- Software configuration: It’s possible that the USBSS2 port is not configured correctly in the software. Check the JetPack configuration to ensure that the port is enabled and configured correctly.
- Device compatibility: It’s possible that the device you’re using is not compatible with the USBSS2 port. Try using a different device to see if the issue persists.
To troubleshoot the issue, you can try the following:
- Check the carrier board documentation to ensure that the USBSS2 port is configured correctly.
- Check the JetPack configuration to ensure that the USBSS2 port is enabled and configured correctly.
- Try using a different device to see if the issue persists.
- Try swapping the USBSS1 and USBSS2 ports to see if the issue follows the port or the device.
If none of these troubleshooting steps resolve the issue, it’s possible that there’s a hardware or software fault with the USBSS2 port. In this case, you may need to contact NVIDIA support for further assistance.

Don’t know what you want to ask here. If you are using a custom board, share out your schematic and how your USB device tree looks like now.
为used custom board,used usbss2 now,it work for usbss1
If you could not give a clear statement in English, maybe just use your comment in Chinese… because you totally give nothing useful to what I requested…
issue resolved, dtb error.
