vGPU update posted

On 31 March, NVIDIA posted an updated vGPU Manager and Driver on our website (http://www.nvidia.com/vGPU)

Here are the key updates:

  • Support for Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2
  • Support for NVWMI
  • Support for nView
  • Additional GRID vGPU profiles: K120Q/K220Q with 512MB frame buffer
  • Various bug fixes

The new vGPU profiles enable greater scalability for designers. The Q on these profiles means that it is a Quadro-class device, and will be certified by professional applications.

Here is the post from Citrix around Windows 8.1 and 2012 R2:

The new K120Q and K220Q profiles are a significant feature improvement over the previous versions of GRID vGPU. Now we offer maximal user scalability (8 per GPU) for professional application users.

In non-virtualized environments pro users are used to special features and performance optimizations only available with Quadro cards/drivers. With the latest release this is now available in virtualized environments at maximal user scalability.
