VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE (0x116) after system unlock – GPU fails to initialize

Issue Summary:
This issue occurs only in dGPU mode. When the system is locked or idle for ~15–30 minutes (allowing it to enter sleep), unlocking the screen causes the display to freeze, turn black, and the system reboots. Analysis of the crash dump shows a VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE (0x116) in nvlddmkm.sys. The GPU fails to initialize after unlock, and Windows’ TDR recovery fails.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Use the system in dGPU-only mode.

  2. Lock the system or leave it idle for ~15–30 minutes to enter sleep.

  3. Unlock the screen.

  4. Within 1–2 minutes, display freezes → black screen → system reboots.

Expected Behavior:
The GPU should initialize correctly after unlock, and the system should continue working normally.

Actual Behavior:
The GPU fails to initialize, causing a VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE (0x116) and system reboot.

Display Connection Details:
Integrated + discrete GPU (no Advanced Optimus), 2560x1600 @ 240Hz, G-SYNC enabled.
